I see a lot of realtors getting involved in charitable endeavours. How important is this to generate business? Is it really about the charity or about raising your profile, because I definitely need more ways to generate some attention?

It all depends on your overall outlook towards philanthropy. I prefer to believe that the spirit of giving back to the community drives people to get involved.
Others may disagree and look at such activities simply as marketing.

Charity events are really important. Please do them for the Charity itself and don't expect anything in return. Its more important to give than receive receive. My opinion.

I have to agree, charity events are really important . I feel that it is important to give back to your community whether you'll benefit financially or not. It's important to remember that we are in the service business as Realtors and sometimes it's not about the money.
