The majority Liberal Government and their elected representatives should not forsake on a campaign promise. We should not even be debating this. The question becomes who and what is to fund the promises made to assist the "middle class"? The answer is the land transfer tax, in that it is a huge "cash cow" for the government. The corollary of this argument, is that the "middle class" will be the most hurt by this added tax burden. Hopefully, their will be a public outcry to elected officials to deliver on their promises.

AGREED - Canadian residence buying a HOME should not be subjected to any more tax HOWEVER the speculative OffShore purchaser should be targeted. I dont care if it cools the market; it would help the middle class in their ability to afford housing.
