When a new home or new condominium contract is being assigned, an issue often overlooked is entitlement to the HST New Housing Rebate. It is very complex and not very well understood.

In an assignment sale, the agent for the original seller was working for whom? Even if that agent was NOT working for the seller, was he/she dealing fairly with all parties to a contract? Is this misrepresentation or fraud? Either way, our E&O insurance will be under attack. Ergo, this is going to cost us all. Insert sad face.
