App aims to reform showing practice

We recently covered must-have apps for agents; should you consider this newest one?

Schedulock is the newest mobile app aimed at agents, and it aims to help better manage showings.

“We believe that the process to schedule a real estate showing is very cumbersome on both ends. Currently, there are very limited options to book showings on the go and there is still a ton of back and forth between agents, home sellers, and real estate offices,” Alexander Poon, Schedulock Co-founder, said. “We are looking to change the way current real estate showings are arranged through a mobile solution that makes the process more efficient, transparent, and secure for everyone involved.”

The app allows Toronto-based agents to schedule showings for any Toronto Real Estate board listing. It also allows agents to manage lockbox codes and track client feedback.  It’s currently available for iPhone and Android.

It’s an app that could possibly be used in conjunction with Periscope.

“A friend of mine told me about a new app and only one other agent in Barrie is using it – it’s called Periscope,” Kraig Schwartz, an agent with Sutton Group Your Real Property Team, told REP in early April.

While not a real estate-specific app, Periscope does allow people to broadcast directly to a live audience. This allows agents to host virtual open houses that can be attended by prospective buyers across the world which is super convenient for busy buyers and potential investors who may not live in the area.
