Brantford rated among top cities to buy real estate
Brantford has been pegged the fourth best city to buy real estate in Canada, according to the recent edition of MoneySense magazine. In a ranking of 35 Canadian cities, Brantford's real estate market is bested only by Thunder Bay (first), Calgary (second), and Barrie (third).

Ryan Monahan, president of the Brantford Regional Real Estate Association, said he wasn't surprised with the results as the local real estate market offers "great value" for those looking to purchase a home as well as those seeking to invest in income or business properties. Factors used to arrive at the rankings included affordability, price appreciation, local incomes, overall health of the local economy and rental income potential.

Real estate baron Durst arrested for charges of murder
According to an article in the Globe and Mail, real estate baron, Robert Durst, scion of one of New York’s largest real-estate empires, has been arrested in New Orleans on a murder warrant issued by Los Angeles County, the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office said. Durst, born in 1943, is known for life twists that led him to be questioned but not charged in the mysterious deaths of his first wife, Kathleen Durst, in 1982 and a longtime friend in 2000. There was no lawyer listed for Durst on the arrest report and Durst has maintained his innocence in the deaths. U.S. media said he was arrested on Saturday, according to reports.
