Canadian real estate guru Richard Robbins is back on tour to impart lessons on how agents can break through plateaus and take their businesses to the next level.

From statistics to best hiring practices, there are countless tools at agents’ disposal to build better businesses, however, knowing where to start is often the hardest part. Fortunately, Richard Robbins International (RRI) will break down where to begin with a deep dive into current industry trends and inculcate in attendees best uses for statistics, as well as how to market themselves effectively.

Robbins will be handling the Greater Toronto Area’s leg of the tour, while the esteemed Chris Cummins will begin in Halifax and work westward.

According to Storm Fletcher, VP of business development at RRI, agents are often overwhelmed and can’t see the bigger picture from inside the frame, often rendering potential lead conversions into a string of missed opportunities.

“The tour is designed to give them better perspective on what works and what doesn’t work,” said Fletcher. “If you’re going to work hard to generate leads, you better know how to convert them and you do that by knowing your staff and knowing statistics. There are a lot of options out there, and if it was just about the information then we’d all be successful. The question, however, is how do you work with the information and implement it—how do you take that information and turn it into something tangible?”

Indeed, the marketplace is saturated with myriad sales agents for consumers to choose from, and while that may seem disadvantageous for agents, Fletcher frames it differently.

“It’s an opportunity,” she said. “You can compete on price, which is your commission, or you can compete on value. Right now, a lot of agents compete on price because they don’t know how to effectively communicate their value. Richard and Chris will share best practices.”

So too will successful adherents of RRI principles. Not only are Robbins and Cummins themselves great teachers, RRI has burgeoned into a community of likeminded real estate professionals, all of whom are the cream that rose to the top of their respective markets.

Ralph Ciancio, broker of record with REMAX Hallmark Ciancio Group Realty, says he came to RRI for the coaching and stayed for the community.

“One part of RRI that’s undersold is the community aspect,” Ciancio told REP during Robbins’ Team Leadership Academy in May. “RRI provides coaching, but the community is likeminded; they care, they share, and they’re generous agents from across North America. It’s a closed-door meeting with top agents—people who sell up to 500 homes a year—and we’re sharing best practices.”
