Some firms are abusing the system and are using it in ways that it was not designed for and they have turned it into a con game, writes agent Scott Simmons

True, there is abuse but it is not limited to million dollar homes. It is proportional to the market you are in. Another issue coming up is the "coming soon to MLS" riders that are hanging on signs a month before the homes are put up. Great for exposure for the listing agent as it will increase the chances of dual ending but does it really help the seller? Shouldn't there be a time limit (board specific). The "brains" that come up with these new rules seem oblivious to the opportunities for abuse.
When money is the reward, scammers will always find a way.

I'm not aware of any other industry that provides fiduciary services, where the fiduciary can represent both parties. If there was one thing that could be implemented to improve the credibility of organized real estate it would be to eliminate ALL forms of dual agency.

These sound like tactics used by low commission companies.

"These sound like tactics used by low commission companies."

What? Please explain further as the comment is ambiguous at best.
