Ottawa is spending $500,000 to help understand the role of foreign homebuyers in the country's housing market. That and other highlights from the budget

$29.4 billion deficit, that is it! We can afford more then that justin. Why stop there, keep the money presses running, everyone can work for the government by the time you leave office.

Come on! CPP and OAS haven't been increased in any meaningful way for years and years! Why are you only increasing payments for single seniors? Not that they don't deserve it, but what about those of us who are trying to maintain a decent lifestyle on pennies?

The Budget should have been released on April Fools Day, unfortunately it's not a joke!
Debt, waste and more spending debt! The budget slashes funds to replace military equipment, putting our troops in danger while spending $1.9 Billion for the arts, maybe they plan to give the old equipment a paint job using the arts fund! How will this protect Canadians?
And if you need to see where foreign investment buyers are come from, what's wrong with using the Fintrac information that we've been forced to gather? This is a completely unnecessary study fund which contributes no solution but, only adds more debt and more waste!
Shame on you Trudeau - you may have had good intentions but you are going to break us all, with the sky high taxes that'll we'll be forced to pay for your vote buying debt extravaganza!

Another joke by chicken Trudeau. What can be done with $500,000. Probably it's another excuse to pay to his insider. We cannot even buy a townhouse in Markham, Ontario....Besides, the major force pushing up the price of real estates is new immigrants with money (only money with no brain), not the foreign investors aboard.

Mr. Trudeau, You authorized all these migrants coming to Canada, giving them housing, welfare, free medicare, dentistry, bonuses, they will multiple like crazy, the cost to us hard working Canadians will be endless.
We cannot even take care of our own homeless, we leave them sleeping on the streets in the minus temperatures; we do not give them free housing nor any kind of support; What is the matter with this government.
We will be in for turbulent times as is well demonstrated with what is happening in Europe.
These people coming to Canada do not want to integrate and become Canadian, they are not suitable for this country, they have no skills and absolutely no desire to desire to follow Canadian customs, they want to change the world to become like them.
They never had an automatic cheque coming to why should they ever work if they are getting everything for free!

More money for social programs, infrastructure, young families and less for the military. Good, that's the Canada that I remember. And, they are looking into foreign ownership driving up the cost of housing for Canadians.

50% of this budget is going to be spent on red tape. By the time they decide who, what, where and how, the money will be given out, the administration/government staff, surveyors/studies, lawyers and numerous interest groups (with their lawyers) wanting their share. 1/2 the money will be gone and not help anyone.
Also I do not see any job creation. Create jobs and collect taxes so we can afford to help the needy.
