Apps to set you apart from the competition

These are the apps one veteran swears by. One has even helped him close deals

“I use the Canadian Mortgage App – it’s the best mortgage tool for clients,” Kraig Schwartz, an agent with Sutton Group Your Real Property Team, told REP. “It’s easy to use; clients understand it and it can be adjusted any way you want.

It’s the number one app every agent should be using.”

The app allows agents to crunch numbers in real time right in front of clients. He can toggle home price, mortgage rate, amortization period, tax, utility costs, and credit details, among many others.

Schwartz even credits the app with helping him close a deal.

“This app has helped me sell homes,” he said.

In one case, a client was interested in a $560,000, 50 acre farm house. The client was insistent on putting $200,000 down on the home. However, Schwartz pulled out the app and showed the client how putting $110,000 would only cost $300 more per month.

That freed up $90,000 for the buyer to plant an apple orchard – which is something the client planned to eventually do.

That’s not the only app in his arsenal, though.

“A friend of mine told me about a new app and only one other agent in Barrie is using it – it’s called Periscope,” Schwartz said.

While not a real estate-specific app, Periscope does allow people to broadcast directly to a live audience. This allows agents to host virtual open houses that can be attended by prospective buyers across the world.

Which is super convenient for busy buyers and potential investors who may not live in the area.
