Phil Soper receives award of excellence

Royal LePage president and CEO, Phil Soper received the CEO Award of Excellence in Public Relations from the Canadian Public Relations Society in its 22nd incarnation of the award.

Soper joined Royal LePage in 2002 and since then, he helped to triple revenue and double agent count. He also directed the brand’s 2003 restructuring into a publicly traded enterprise.

Before his work with Royal LePage, Soper held several senior executive positions with tech giant IBM, and is a former governor for the University of Alberta, his alma mater.

The CPRS represents the public relations profession in Canada. Its CEO award, which is determined by a selection committee comprised of the association’s past presidents, recognizes communications excellence.

Past award recipients include John Betts of McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada, Jim Leech of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Robert Deluce of Porter Airlines, Galen G. Weston of Loblaw Companies, Frances Lankin of the United Way of Greater Toronto, Michael Budman and Don Green of Roots Canada, and Piers Handling of the Toronto International Film Festival.
