Ten years ago, Melissa Morin left her hometown and moved to Central Alberta in hopes of better opportunities. In 2013, she acquired her real estate license and found her best fit. Morin’s passion and commitment for customer service fueled her early days in the business, and she sold 27 homes in her first year. Since then, her production has increased annually, leading to multiple recognitions like The Advocate Reader’s Choice Award for Best Realtor in 2019.
As someone who also runs rental properties, Morin emphasizes the importance of consumer awareness on key home buying factors like debt and credit scores. “If we focused more on limiting debt and educating people, we'd see many more people who are able to qualify for mortgages,” she says.
If the past 12 months have taught Morin anything, it would be that “worrying isn't productive. I used to lose a lot of sleep over things I can't change,” she says. “Now I just focus my energy on what I can control.”
