Council warns of Craigslist real estate scams 
The Real Estate Council of B.C. wants agents to use caution before handing over the keys to properties being viewed due to the increasing amount of scams online, namely Craigslist. A CBC investigation into the elaborate scheme has led several victims to come forward, including a woman who lost $6,000. Read more in the full story here

Man duped by Ontario Realtor

New listings up 39 per cent in Calgary due to oil 
Sales on the MLS system in December in Calgary declined 4.3% from December 2013, while the dollar value of sales dropped 1.3% last month, from $643.3 million to $634.6 million, according to the year-ending report from the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA). Still what's important is that with falling oil prices, new listings shot up 39 per cent compared to December 2013. Read more in the full story here
